Vicksburg on the Mississippi river and location of the most important battle of the civil war. Currently going through some serious flooding. We visited the Battle grounds and the museum. The battle field is still intact and with many of the cannons in place. The fall of Vicksburg to the union soldiers took 47 days and was a disastrous to the city not to mention the thousands of men that died in this battle. Quite a story of the strategies from both a defensive and offensive perspective. Very interesting visit and to walk the battle field.
